Character Creation
Mechanical character creation is identical - characters will simply be of a higher tier and possess more HP and MP.
Starting Inventories
This list explains the items a party begins play with, based on the tier in which the campaign begins. These are always somewhat limited load-outs - roughly enough to survive the first session, but not much after.
Also, no matter what tier a party is created at, when they begin play and are using the Equipment system, they select one weapon and armor type, receiving the cheapest tier-appropriate version of that weapon and armor for their inventory. This allows characters some room to swap weaponry, or move into other jobs, or dual-wield.
Also remember that each character begins play with a basic weapon and suit of armor of their tier, too.
If other systems are in use, additional items may be provided. They're listed here.
If the Class system is in effect, sometimes additional items are granted. If a character knows the Throw ability, take 2 current tier throwing items (or 1 of each element, if the current tier deals elemental damage). If a character knows Use, receive 2 Grenades and a Hero Drink. If a character knows any abilities that use Ceremonial Katana, receive one katana for each ability known.
Level 1 (Tier 1)
Items: 5 Tonics, 5 Tinctures,
1 Antidote, 1 Eyedrop, 1 Golden Needle, 1 Phoenix Down and 1 Tent.
Job or License Systems: 2 Shuriken, 1 Asura I.
Equipment System: Any two tier 1 Shields
Level 11 (Tier 2)
Items: 8 Tonics, 8 Tinctures,
1 Antidote, 1 Eyedrop, 1 Pain Killer, 1 Echo Screen, 1 Holy Water, 1 Chronos Tear, 1 Golden Needle, 2 Phoenix Downs and 1 Tent.
Job or License Systems: 2 Juji Shuriken, 2 Grenades, 1 Hero Drink, 1 Asura II, 1 Osafune II, 1 Murasame II.
Equipment System: Any two shields tier 2 or lower.
Level 21 (Tier 3)
Items: 5 Potions, 2 Tonics, 5 Ethers, 2 Tincture,
1 Antidote, 1 Eyedrop, 1 Bandage, 1 Pain Killer, 1 Echo Screen, 1 Holy Water, 1 Chronos Tear, 2 Remedies, 1 Golden Needle, 3 Phoenix Downs and 1 Tent.

Equipment System: Any two shields tier 10 or lower.
Job System
Characters created above level 1 will begin play with some job abilities learned already - Allocate [Level x (3/4) -1 ] x 50 AP among any number of jobs as desired.
Class System
Characters created above level 1 begin play with more AP - award each character [Level x (3/4) - 1] x 50 AP in addition to the starting AP of 200, which they can immediately use to purchase new abilities.
Talent System
The only change to a talent-using campaign is that characters will have more talent slots available as outlined under the Talent System.
